✧ Mission: Presente! Maine is a grassroots organization that fights to empower displaced Indigenous and Afro-Latinx peoples of Maine through survival programs, community power building, cultural celebration, and transformative healing practice. Presente envisions a world where all peoples enjoy their rights to joy, beauty, wellness, food, land, and home.
✧ Presente! targets three key program areas: Community Health and Wellness (Bienestar), Food Sovereignty and Land Stewardship, and Leadership & Community Power Building.
✧ Since 2020, we have led critical initiatives to get people fed, prevent eviction, advocate for public health emergency funds for community-based organizations across Maine, deploy public health response, restore indigenous foodways, and win Mainecare for people regardless of immigration status, all while working with a small staff and a few dedicated volunteers.
✧ We are seeking a Distribution Coordinator to oversee and coordinate our distribution and warehouse operations primarily in Portland, ME. The ideal candidate takes pride in being detail-oriented and highly organized and works well independently and collaboratively.
✦ ✦ Responsibilities ✦ ✦
✧ Inventory, Ordering, Receiving
Create, implement, and maintain a logical organizing system and explain it to the team
With the Administrative team, create, implement, and maintain systems for tracking resources distributed
Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule and on an as-needed basis
Maintain a steady inventory of resource kits, ensuring they are always readily available.
Participate in programs, team, and staff meetings
✧ Safety and Sanitation
Maintain food safety standards
Complete daily inspections for sanitation and neatness, including cleaning up cardboard and plastic refuse, squaring pallets, and moving pallets
Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of equipment
Alert the Operations Director of any necessary repairs or maintenance
✧ Resource Distribution and Community Outreach
Participate in regular community distribution of resources
Manage vehicle rentals for transporting resources and supplies
Deliver emergency food boxes to community members as needed
When required, supervise and orient volunteers and communicate volunteer performance to the Operations Director
✧ Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to:
Supporting staff at select clinics and events other than Despensa
Supporting basic facilities maintenance
Supporting volunteer orientation and supervision at Despensa

✧ Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to move, manipulate, handle and feel objects and tools; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must also be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50+ pounds frequently.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and cold temperatures in refrigerators, coolers, and freezers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
✧ Rate of pay: $56,000 - $58,000
✧ Benefits: 100% employer-covered healthcare, vision, and dental insurance premiums. Employer covered AAA Membership for employee. Education reimbursement.

✧ Anticipated start date: August 1 or sooner
✧ Expected Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Mon - Fri: 10am - 6pm
Evenings and weekends are sometimes required.
