Community Health Worker

Stephanie
I was born in New Jersey but grew up and spent the majority of my life in Southern Maine. My parents hail from Yucuaiquín (tierra de fuego), El Salvador, and emigrated to America in the late 1980’s in search of a better life and to seek better opportunities.
After graduating from Thornton Academy in 2016, I worked as a certified nursing assistant in assisted living for three years. I also studied Behavioral Health at Southern Maine Community College, graduating in 2019. Following that, I worked at Catholic Charities where I spent four years in various roles, including homemaker, assessor, and data specialist. Wanting to service my community more directly and be a voice for them, I joined Presente! as a community health worker.
In my downtime, I enjoy reading true crime books and listening to K-pop music. Every year, I love going to El Salvador to visit family and eat pupusas revueltas. El Salvador es un país lleno de cultura y tradiciones. It's a small country with ocean views made for surfing. Tiene lugares turísticos para encantar a cualquier viajero. Estoy orgullosa de representar el azul y blanco.
